Feel good here on the moor today. Autumn. Cold wind and blustery. Ferns now brown in some places but greens still hang on. The Hawthorn virtually silhouetted against the enormous sky. Sun throwing up some lovely colours. No ponies or bird song although a meadow pipit calls anxiously as it flies by. A wheatear skips from rock to rock. As I sit I see the red berries of the Hawthorn on the lower slopes.
